LHR (and most busy airports to be honest) always gets screwed in these situations because it's operating at almost full capacity. Spacing between movements has to be increased for safety which means you have to cancel some flights or else run out of operational day |

Cheers S. at the moment I haven't booked the flights there and back as the meeting is likely to be cancelled if the weather stays like it is, because the locals on the committee I am part of cannot get there from the other parts of the SE if the snow continues 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Come on up to Scotland - excellent snow driving here. Good fun. Prestwick airport is open. Mind you that does mean Rayanair.

The local "kewl" kids who wear trendy snowboarding gear all year round here are now out on the steeply sloping field behind my house having a ball on their bin liner bags. And the golf course at the next village is also the place to go for the local skiers!

Would have thought the Peak or Lake Districts would have been closer for you NP. Problem with Aviemore is the snow gates - roads round Aviemore might be clear but you have to get over the Drummochter Pass to get there and if the Police say you aren't going then you won't get through the gates! Glencoe is a good bet though! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
