 For the last 25 years I have always changed the angle of washer jets onto the windscreen by sticking a pin into the jet to adjust until the desired angle is achieved.

Provided it wasn't a stainless steel pin, have you tried using a  magnet to remove the broken off bit ? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
