Rather annoyingley a wheelie bin crept up and jumped out at my rear tail light, smashing the plastic house at the top - that's my story and I'm sticking to it

If anyone knows whether I would be ok to fit a replacement part sourced from overseas ( I'm in Sydney Australia by the way ) I would appreciate the advice.

To give you an idea , main dealer quotes here range from $495 to $570 for 1x light unit. It's the passenger side on the rear that's damaged.

On ebay there seems to be 2 options, UK and US and with postage and our strong Aussie dollar it seems a good deal - but only if I buy the correct part. I am not aware if there are different standards or electrics in other models, mine is a 2007 TDV8.

Also if anyone has had this replaced I would also be interested to know roughly how long it takes for the labour.

I would think the UK models would be the same as the Aussie ones and Replacing the Rear Lamp Assembly shouldn't take that long, quite straight forward actually.  Malaysia Boleh!

Agree with Bobby.. I think the US lights have the additional side markers in them??

I have bought stuff on UK ebay and had it shipped. Seems to work and now with the strong dollar should help. Can take a little while to arrive if you don't use airmail. Make sure you get it registered/recorded for a signature too.
