United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Silence, but not golden

The other day I lost all sound in the car. I had been listening to the radio on the way in to work – but it didn’t work in the way back home.

Also, the voice command system appeared to be working but had no ‘bleep’ sound (the one that you get when you trigger it) ... and it wouldn’t talk to me.

The CD would display the track number, but the track time counter stayed at 00:00.

I pulled over, fiddled a lot (yes I did check the volume knob) and still no joy. I turned off, removed the key, waited for a couple of minutes and restarted ... still no joy.

I visited the dealer on the way home and, when they very kindly sent a mechanic out to have a look with me, it had started working again.

No problems since (It happened about three days ago).

Anyone ever had this? Any ideas? I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

Cyprus 2008 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Had something similar but it was my fault (actually my 3 year old niece's) jacked the volume up rather suddenly and the RRS didn't seem to like it much and switched off all sound... A quick shut down, turn down of the volume, and restart seemed to do the trick...

I had it, yanked the fuse out and promptly dropped it due to the ridiculous location and the need for hands like a 3 year old, had to call LR assist to put a new one in for me as it had been munched by the car interior Confused

This happened on mine a couple of times, although it was fine next time I started the car on both occasions.
