Is this normal???

Have not reported any new with mine RRS for long Big Cry

First, yesterday I was parked on a street with engine on and felt a slight shake (as if a massive truck passed next me with 80mph)... Has anyone ever experienced this?

Second, I feel mine steering wheel vibrate at certain speeds (inconsistent). I have go the wheels re-balanced but it did not help. Ir is driving me crazy when driving faster. I am going to see the dealer on Firday to get it sorted.

Any input anyone?

Coko, the vibration in the steering could be the front diff. It was a bigger problem for the FFRR but i've seen a few on here that have had their diffs replaced after much investigation at the dealer. One of the topics when it was replaced is here.

If your car has been out of alignment for some while and then been realigned, it's possible your tyres have worn unevenly... this can introduce vibrations at various speeds? Question

Good point mate... Do you think that the tyres will wear themselves back to even? Confused

In my experience, they certainly can do.... whether they will or not is a different matter Wink

Hmmm, was thinking of not using this car till Friday but you tempted me to give it a go and wear the tyres. But still worth having it checked, don't you think? Confused

Yes, I have and I did mention about this before somewhere in this forum.

I still haven't figured about what's causing this "shaking" though. Question 09 TDV6 HSE, Stornoway Grey/Black, Sat. DMB/Navi, 2GB memory, Rear view camera, 12 CD/MP3/DVD changer, 35% Lumar tinting, Custom exhaust tips

Have you got Dynamic Response?

If so, I think it might be something to do with that, as I swear I had the same thing the other day and I reckon DR could do it if something pulsed the electronic control module?

I have DR. It is really strange. Since I got the car in Dec 08 it was on winter tyres and I have not experienced it. However, ever since I swapped to summer the "shaking" has been there. Big Cry
It is driving me crazy...

you could have a slight buckle in the wheel which will not balance out. also if the tyre has become deformed due to standing etc it iwll wobble when driving. what wheels do u have on.

I have 20" with standard Contis on

Though, I went to see the dealer last night and he re-balanced the wheels and swaped the front tyres.
The shaking seems to have stopped... Rolling Eyes

Will observe it when driving around this week...

your tyres are out of shape possibly due to a pothole or bad bump. unfortunatly it is a part of 4x4 ownership that will never go away.
