Yep, all fair enough and there have been a few on here over the years that have held a similar opinion and gone back to BMW. It's not just LR, this sort of thing tends to happen across all marques - just unfortunate when it happens to you |

AD - I've been there, had to wait 3 months for parts before but it was worth the wait. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Absolutely true, but to be honest no other make is so outrageous or unorganized or whatever you may call it that you have to wait 10 days (or even some weeks as it has happened to various members in the German forum) for spare parts! ![]() I can remember when Volkswagen installed a new big storage for their spare parts there were a lot of mistakes and some people had to wait for two weeks for their spare parts, all the motoring press was almost eating Volkswagen up and everybody laughed at them! ![]() ![]() Luckily it didn't hit me yet, my RRS works brilliantly! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I agree, internet has raised our paranoia on everything... Back in the days problems about things we bought were the same, but there wasn't a place where they all come together... |

That's true for sure. My brother who doesn't like the internet very much and who doesn't read any forums has a 15 year old car with almost no problems, when something breaks he goes to the garage without thinking of it a lot. |

i think its unfortuantely an occurance that will become more and more common. All the dealers are keen to kepe their stock levels as low as possible, for reasons of space, stock taking and most of all cashflow - you can't buy as much when all your cash is tied up in spare parts on the off chance that someone might need a replacement rear seat. The dealers have pushed the stock problem back to the suppliers who weren't quite sure what to do so just sat with all the stock and this allowed th dealers to get the parts in 24 hours. After a while these suppliers realised they had the same issues as the dealers did and pushed the stock back to their wholesalers and so the whole problem continues. The main manufacturer has so many parts to make now and the production lines are so automated that it doesn't make sense for them to change all the tooling over to start making a part that someone is deperate for when they have just started a run of producing 200,000 of something else. Its not just an issue that LR have its an issue that all manufacturers seem to have.

That's exactly what LR and LR dealers keep telling me but it is just not my experience. In my experience delivery of spare parts has even become better and faster with other manufacturers (i.e. the German ones which I have some experience with). Their dealers almost have no stock at all (except for some small or very often needed parts) but can order them and get them the same day. Trust me, they do. ![]() ![]() |

I wwish I could say it was the same here but i've had to wait for parts from LR, BMW and Merc. The only manufacturer that I've never had a problem with is Vauxhall. 2005 TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver Ebony Interior Sunroof, RSE, Side Steps

Going back to the original post, LR have got the part in 3 days not 10+ as quoted. As I am in a LRA car that is costing them £47 a day this might have something to do with it!

Glad they are sorting it out for you slightly quicker than planned - out of interest what car did you get from LRA? The first time I called them out (for a suspension fault on my Disco 3) they tunred up to recover the car and tried to leave me a Micra !! cue an annoyed phone call to LRA, ever since then they have always provided LR products just wondered what they use now 2005 TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver Ebony Interior Sunroof, RSE, Side Steps
