She wants the AMG55 either that or a 911. but she prefers the convertable hard top compared to 4 seats. I have been looking at a few and really like them I have an R129 300SL and love it to bits. have you had any problems and what it the build quality like any corrosion issues?

Posts: 24350 | Having been in Jay's 55 I can tell you it's a monster.... that said, I wouldn't have said it's much of a daily driver as fuel costs will be mental. A mate of mine who's a long term Porsche fan bought a 350 recently and is very pleased with it - looks good, works well but doesn't require you to take out shares in BP

As a day to day car, they are fine. Just remember you have a nuclear weapon under your right foot If you are looking for a more relaxing drive with less power, I would opt for the 500......for me though it removed the animal instinct that the 55 possesses. In all honesty, yes they are slightly juicy, but I still get better on the SL than I do on the S/C RRS. Comfort is amazing (the seats a RRS should have), everything does what it is supposed to do and overall, I think, its a great all rounder........and as a bonus, you can blast the majority of the fodder off the road or at the lights.
