Tumshie, also bear in mind climate.

The service intervals here are 6,000 miles due to dust, heat etc. etc.

Service when depends on where

Service interval in Aus is 6 months or every 12,000 km Crying or Very sad for my TDV8, look at the UK interval and wish. There is another schedule for arduous conditions which from memory is 3 months or 6,000 km Shocked (mentioned somewhere else in the forum). No definition of arduous though. Your 6,000 miles is roughly just under 10,000 km so is it just a little bit arduous then Question or just a pluck?

In the service portfolio it say:

1st service: 15000 miles
or 12 months

2nd: 30000 miles
24 months

My vehicle is at 21000 miles and a YEAR since last service... I dont drive the car particularly hard either...

Just more money I suppose...

LoL

From reading the service book and what has been said here it looks like its 50K or 2 yrs (whichever comes first). For me it just seems a long time between services, still it just means that I have to open the wallet less. Smile

Thanks to all, I will check with my local dealer.

Just noticed that my service indicator is showing -6, when i purchased the car in August i was told it had just had a service and it would not be due for 15K or 12 months, now i have only done 4K since August, am i correct to think that the service interval indicator was not reset or even worse the service was not carried out Sad

Checked with the stealer and service was carried out, it would appear the service indicator was not reset, i am told by the chap on the phone that this is common problem when servicng that sometimes it does not re set and i will have to wait until next service for it to be re set again as if done now the required time will be 12 months or 15K from now Whistle

Service periodicy

Seems that the easiest way to ascertain service interval is by latitude and temperature Question Closely followed by lack of Land Rover income stream or when Mercury is in the third quarter of Venus after Mars has 7/8 shadowed Jupiter Rolling with laughter . Just seem that there is no other rhyme or reason. Maybe a super computer (like the original Willy Wonka one, see Tim from The Goodies) could figure this service interval differential out Laughing

The Stealership equipment (IDS) which i promise you i know very intimately, resets the service interval to values derived from and according to a built in table. So dealers don't have a choice. the country is read from the CCF file in the vehicle and they just hit the button marked reset service interval.
