they gave me a 3g sim with the phone and told me the my old 2g sim will no longer work and this new 3g will become active in around 48 hours i know they have been busy with the iphone but 2 weeks later the old 2g sim is still working in the new phone |

WHAT???? So why have you not been on to O2?? I got a new one, but my old SIM was already 3G, so just popped it in. It sounds as if the IMEI number that refers to your new card has not been activated................ Just dial 202 on your iphone and tell the numpties to sort it pronto! Ok, lest us whiteboard your activity. 1. You have your old 2G SIM inside your new 3G iPhone - correct ? 2. You are stating that the 3G symbol is valid and on the screen using a 2G SIM...correct? 3. Go to a coffee machine, order yourself a large expresso and kick start that water based mass between your ears......................2G will NOT give you 3G operations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Comments inline.... 1. Good 2. Good 3. A 2G SIM will work, but will not offer you the 3G connectivity. The shocker is, if you see a 3G symbol, that normally means 3G is active, which based on your belief that your card is 2G.....is an impossibility of technology. If i spend the next half hour on the phone to O2 and they tell me my sim is alrady 3g and to bin the new one i'm gonna let your tyres down next week RRS TDV6 Gone but still around
