It was a sad story.......her act of denial was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Let me explain.
It was Christmas eve and Santa was having a really bad time.
The elves had gone on strike for more pay and central heating. Toy production was way behind.
When he went out to fire up the sleigh he found he had to change a ski that had gone flat.
Rudolph didn't want to get hitched up so he Censored around in the paddock for hours before being caught.
Finally Santa thought he'd have a quiet snort before heading out to deliver the presents. So he went looking for that bottle of scotch that nice Brian Mason had given him. But it wasn't in the kitchen in it's usual hiding spot....Mrs Claus had found it and it was gone. Being Christmas eve she, of course, was at the North Pole Club playing snowflake bingo. So he was all alone. He sank into his favourite chair and in despair wondered if it was all worthwhile.
Just then there was a knock on his door. Slowly he raised himself and struggled to the door. When he opened it there was a flash of the most brilliant coloured lights and standing there was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Thinking his luck had changed he said " hello you gorgeous creature, do come in"
She replied " Hello Santa, I can't stay . I just came around to deliver your Christmas tree."
He snapped and to this day we all follow the tradition he started and put the Christmas Fairy on the top of the tree.
Sad but true
