Hi all , I'm not looking for anyone's approval , just thought some people might be interested without having to criticize. The last range rover we bought at 12 months old and kept for 7 years also buying the 997 turbo at 12 months and keeping that one for nearly 5 years. Only sold the rr vogue as we needed more seats the porsche went due to lack of use .
The 458 or possibly an ff is just a box to tick off for me so I will buy the car I like at the time . I feel I need to own a super car that sounds like a super car should , that one will be used too and only kept for a year or two then moved on . In the meantime I'm still involved in an ongoing property development , tractors , diggers and the like .
Is there anything on the ab that my hse won't have apart from painted bumper bits , different style/ colour choices of seats and the badge .
Thanks for the interest Thumbs Up

I looked at the Ab and I still can't see where the extra thousands go. if I spec a HSE to an AB spec I still can't see the extra 5 grand add to that I want a black interior, fixed pan roof and I don't want the diamond turned 21s an Ab really is a waste of a few grand for a badge. All the extras I do want you still have to pay for on the AB so basically I'm paying for stuff I don't really want and to have more choice on things I don't want. 2008 Factory HST- Sold

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Surely the point is to have the car you want not the car someone else wants a number of years down the line? It's your money so spend it on something that is exactly what you want. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It certainly is not a waste of money, An AB will command more money at px or resale than any hse specced up, buying a HSE specced up is a waste of more than a few grand, but hey each to their own,
an AB with the same spec as my HSE is £11000 more take away the £3500 for the dynamic and I'm paying £7500 for a badge and a couple of design features in the bumper corners. So for that £7500 I could get every other option there is that if you spec end on an AB would push it up to £85000 ish.each to their own like you say but there's no way way I am paying several thousand pound for a badge 2008 Factory HST- Sold

But none of them are things I want so as I said an AB is a waste of money for what I want from my RRS and anyway if I was worried about future resale I wouldn't be buying a RRS Laughing 2008 Factory HST- Sold

I'm thinking I might just pop into the dealers and upgrade the seats . Not that expensive but I feel the need to do something .

I must admit I don't really understand the Autobiography deal either. I specced the car I wanted both ways and for the AB it was over 10k more and the only noticeable differences I could see were an uglier looking steering wheel and some exterior trim colour differences. I guess it all depends what you are looking for in terms of extras and I'm sure there were some extras in the AB but they just didn't happen to be those that I was interested in. I guess I'm also not really that bothered by resale though I can't see that there would be any difference in depreciation if you spec a car with taste.

I'm with you 100% bob . I don't want to knock an ab but land rover seem to be name dropping , ab doesn't have the kudos it used to have , svo has stolen that crown and all models seem to hang of the range rover title .

Seats upgraded , going in next weekend for a final sit down and spec check . I did make a special point of reminding them how fussy I am and the car will be rejected if I'm not 100% happy .
All is good so far , they have filled me with confidence and I'm looking forward to the new car .

I am being exactly the same with my dealer. Don't want them washing it etc as am getting it detailed and protected straight from collection. Don't even want them putting stupid Harwoods stickers in the window etc...! MY16 SDV6 AB Dynamic Stealth
