I assume they are hunting down the crocodiles needed as we speak...

You're right keeping the details of your custom interior secret, will look forward to the big reveal...

You're doing well in managing your LR dealer. My order supposedly went in on the 27th as well; how that translates into a build slot will be interesting. Mark

Not sure where that figure comes from - maybe true, maybe not ( http://roverstateofmind.com/450/)

The "There will only be 400 SVR vehicles produced in 2015" sentence was added to the JLR newsfeed (http://newsroom.jaguarlandrover.com/en-in/land-rover/news/2014/07/lr_range_rover_sport_svr_nurburgring_300714/?b=2827&m=1275&f=TgVG:rangeroversport&dd=true&ct=NewsArticles&rs=5&fr=1&allCounts=False&locus=2) Maybe someone was confused by the 400 Range Rover Limited Editions due in the US next year.

I don't think there will be many in the UK that's for sure. Are you No 1 with your dealer Sally?

Nothing so cheap as crocodile (or at least that's what the quote implies Laughing ) Mark.

Sally, I hope you get the confirmation of the order. JLR have said that the dealer allocations and hence build slots will not be confirmed until the end of the month.

If dealer allocations havent been issued yet, does that mean that you and the other folks above who have confirmed an order are still not even sure their dealer will be getting a car? 2012 Evoque

It's the usual Land Rover shambles when it comes to allocation.

LR must know by now how many cars they are going to build and when; the great mystery is how those build slots are allocated to orders.

27 Nov was some sort of Red Letter Day in that this was when specific configurations were submitted by the dealers to LR. What I don't know is whether this is like some Harrods Sale so that a dealer quick off the mark gets first allocation while someone out to lunch gets pushed to the back of the queue. if there are as few cars as some are saying, whether the order went in first thing on the 27th or late in the day could affect delivery times by months. I have no idea. Mark

This was from Pete:

"As you know, the build is set to commence 12th January, however at this point the build slots have not yet been announced and this should be confirmed by the end of December.

Retailers will each be given allocations and will be able to slot in any orders they currently have waiting into these built slots in the order they decide."

And

"Each retailer will receive an equal allocation, which while this does not favour retailers who have received a large quantity of orders, while another has received a small quantity, it does provide a fair system to ensure that one retailer isn't able to supply large quantities while another retailer is still waiting for their first orders."

Doesn't say in what order the dealers get their allocations. I suspect it will be on location and prestige, rather than anything to do with when the orders were placed with the dealership.

I wanted to change the material but in these early days of SVO that is not possible. Moleskin would have been good - use some of the effin' things that are ruining my lawn.

I asked my dealer if orders had been placed yet and where I was in the queue. He replied with this:

"We have only sold the 2, Or I have, They are going to be producing 10 a week, I suppose it is all done by specification, the other car I sold is £110.000! We wont know dates until scheduled."

Annoyed me a little as I know full well that when the orders are scheduled that its my dealer who will decide which spec of car goes first and I put my deposit down on the launch day! It seems that the chap spending £110K has obviously trumped my measly £98K spec!

15 plates went on sale at DVLA yesterday so I treated myself to this in preparation: RR15 SVR. SOLD - 15 plate Estoril SVR

SOLD - 64 plate Aleutian Silver Supercharged

SOLD - 63 plate Corris SDV6 Autobiography

Idiot salesman. He hasn't sold the car, at best he's taken the order.

Dickie, you have a good track record of RR ownership so the dealer should not prioritise the more expensive order against yours but who knows?

To get up to £110k, you pretty much need to tick every box. What colour SVR are you going for?

By the way, what colour are the Land Rover badges? Seems to me green against a blue car is not great. Mark

I know what you mean about the badge, although it's not that bad:

What is more annoying for me is where the UK front plate goes:

Well done with the reg Dickie. I thought about that myself although it is admitting defeat for an early delivery. I have RR64 SVR if anyone wants it.

£110k is going some. Ignoring dealer fit accessories, the most one can get to is £113k.

Yes, I agree about the number plate. Should be a bit lower, seems to be leaning back in this image. I wonder if there's a proper number plate carrier. I assume it can't obscure any of the grille space so as not to compromise the cooling in the same way front fog lights are said to. Mark

I think it is the same for all 494's - not good IMHO.

Fourdot - https://www.fourdot.co.uk/ - do shaped plates for the Sport.
