Gents (and ladies),

I have booked mine in to have all the so-called Vehicle Enhancement Programme work done on my RRS with Gatwick LR next Monday. Surprised I got an appt so quickly and with a courtesy car too!

Anyway, I'll update this thread with how it goes when I've got it done. From looking at the service bulletin thanks to a kindly forum member, it looks like there's a fair amount of work to do. Probably the large proportion of the day I expect.

Fingers crossed - see you on the other side, when no doubt my car will be completely ruined.

I had my FFRR with them and i transferred to Harwoods in Pulborough

These guys at Gatwick aren't the most clever ones

In fairness, they did my 15k service and found them fine. They did feign ignorance about the VEP when I first contacted them, but when I rang them armed with the info they all of a sudden knew all about it. Not sure why that was as they didn't get as far as taking my name the first time around, so assume someone went away and did some homework.

I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt, but you will have queue up behind me with the insults if they do f**k it all up.

So what is the VEP? Fixing all the mods and recalls, or doing something special?

Seems to be. The summary is as follows:

- Electronic Air Suspension Compressor Upgrade (includes upgrade ride level control module software)
- Upgrade Engine Control Module Software
- Upgrade Transfer Case Control Module Software
- Upgrade Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Control Module Software
- Upgrade Instrument Pack Control Module Software
- Environmental Box (E-Box) Sealing Grommet Check
- Upper Tailgate Support Fixing torque, rattle repair

It's all classed as warranty work, so FOC.

I checked with my local dealer - I had all this work done months ago - was one of the 1st they did - all the software updates and other recall issues - they did the lot - must say the car has been driving excellently ever since with no hick ups at all. [ except crap alloys ]

I think this is LR's effort to try and get all existing cars up to a spec before they start next raft of development I suppose... it'll be useful for the majority of us who haven't actually had any issues that have require remedial work.

Hi schmoogle. Could you forward me the service bulletin relating to this please ? My car is due for delivery next week (06MY) and I want to make sure this is done pre-delivery (if its not already been done at the factory )

This is probably "Off Topic" but I have had my RRS since end of June and I have had an annoying rattle from the Tailgate area which I have not been able to put my finger on, and I am sure I have seen a thread about this here somewhere? However, took the B.... off road in vengenge last week and said rattle has disapeared along with the odd squeek and rattle that Ive had. gave it a good Jet wash today and all noises have dissapeared altogether, maybe the system needs to be shaken down???
