Delivered the RRS to the dealer this morning for work to commence. None of the PCs worked, which was nice so had to pop next door into the Jag dealer's to spin up courtesy car forms etc and then the bloke went through the work that was going to take place on this VEP brochure ("Service Advisor Guide")....

Took the keys to my hateful little Honda Civic auto Evil or Very Mad (which I have to say has one of the worst selectors of any auto I've driven) and drove with the engine at a constant high pitched scream all the way to the office - why do they not give out proper cars... do they not see courtesy cars as a sales tool? Look at the dealer Angel uses - he gets given all sorts of stuff to play with!

Anyway, I'll update later on with the outcomes.

OK, work all done and what can I say. It's a different car!!! Shocked

Handling supremely improved, due to overly worn suspension valves apparently. Much less body roll in bends - and there wasn't loads before, but some... now it's virtually eliminated bearing in mind the type of car we're talking about. Out of interest I'd be really interested to drive a DR-equipped car, it must make the ride very nice and flat.

Gearbox updates have also worked a treat. Much, much smoother - less confusion about when to change and 3-month waits for kickdown.

Nothing visibly different about the HVAC upgrade, but then this was really only a problem for me back in the winter when it took ages to heat up.

As those of you who've seen it know, my car isn't kept particularly clean and the dealer set their valeting team to work on it. So now it's all nice and clean and sparkly, they've even managed to get a large number of surface scratches out. Cleaned out all the crap from the back that Shmoogle Jr generates - half-eaten biscuits, his juice flying about the place etc. Quite a nice surprise!! Very Happy

All in all, another positive experience with LR Gatwick. I know there were some negative comments about them, but again I guess it's down to what happens on the day Thumbs Up

Mine's a year old at the end of this month and she's just clocked 7k. But I have other vehicles I use for pottering around in to keep the mileage down I suppose.
