Aussie spec?

After my mom retires she wants to take the sport back to oz with her, and a bunch of ppl keep telling her to make sure she gets it in australian spec, which apparently includes bigger windows (wtf?) or they wont let her bring it in

does this really exist?

Bigger windows? Is that to take advantage of the extra sunny weather? Laughing

Willing to be proved wrong, but doesn't sound right to me.

LRtuning may know - he spends time in both the UK and Oz Very Happy

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

Bigger windows. Shocked I think someone is getting confused with bigger mudflaps.

Mudflaps are a legal requirement on L/R vehicles destined for Australia. This is the only major difference to UK spec that I am aware of. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

BIGGER ? Exclamation Nearly right !
For some time the Euro Spec glass did not meet Australian Standards so STRONGER glass had to be fitted !
My GB XJC had to have ALL the glass, the seatbelts, the lighting systems and the tyres (and more) 'upgraded'.
At the end of the day if the vehicle does not have an 'Australian Compliance Plate' it has a drastically reduced resale value and may be hard (expensive ) to insure.

Remember
When fitting this device it is important to first disable the nut behind the steering wheel.

That is an old Mk 1 model.
The new military spec version is MUCH smaller and more dangerous.
I'd show you a photo of it .........but then I'd have to kill you !
