New RRS restrictions on sale for new owners.

Hi

Just joined the forum, to enable me to purchase a new RRSport I was made to sign an additional terms and conditions document produced by the dealer preventing me from selling the car for six months, is this a standard practise for new RRS owners ?
Some advice would be appreciated.

Regards David

I was made to sign when preferring think it was a £20k penalty. However when I collected mine they said that you’ll just receive a lifetime ban from buying a JLR product. Not sure they will police this and how.

Trust me, even if buying corporate to avoid previous private aches with the dealer, they do conduct a thorough research. Regards etc.,

I was told quite categorically that if I did not sign then I would not be allowed to purchase?? I cannot see how this piece of paper is enforcable ? As if purchased on a PCP then it is a tri party agreement, I have raised this with Land Rover Finance and they have never heard of such a condition of sale?

No such demands when ordering my car. Tim
RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

A contract is a contract, but the actual wording will probably show if it can be used in a court of law.

Personally, I don't see the problem - it will limit the amount of "chancers" who buy to sell on at greatly increased prices - those very same "chancers" disliked by many on here.

What happens if the dealer asks you to sell it back to them at a profit to you. Porsche offered me over list to buy my 911 back.

Yes the dealers would be more than happy to have a new RRSport to sell on at ridiculous mark up, I had a conversation with a salesman and said I do not understand how JLR/Dealers can be up in arms regarding resale ?

I said I would do a deal with him, I will not sell at a profit and JLR can refund the thousands of pounds lost on buying their product when this madness returns to normal, I also commented that dealers have also profited from the insane rise in car prices, talk about pot calling kettle?????

Thats interesting, I thought that the Autobiography models were not available, 140k for an autobiography doesn't seem excessive, depending on spec ??

What a Joke, good old JLR looking after its customers as usual, it is standard practise for dealers to teat their loyal customers with contempt.
I have started a poll and would be grateful if members would say if they were compelled to sign a form before being allowed to order a RRS ??

I will start a poll once I have worked out how to LOL, Laughing

I am surprised your consumer laws allow such a thing. You are buying the vehicle so ownership transfers to the buyer - it is not like computer software and some music where ownership is retained by the seller you you are effectively just buying a licence to use the item.

The restrictions LR have introduced in the UK have not happened in Australia and if they did they would be struck down. 07MY RRS TDV6

I am asking the same question, I understand that my PCP is a tri party agreement between the dealership, finance company and myself, JLR Financial services have confirmed that they are unaware of this practise, also they have no paperwork relating to this?

JLR financial services said that the finance manager responsible for this large dealership group cannot respond as the paperwork is between the dealership and myself ?? I think we all have an idea why he doesn't want to tread on any toes, I have raised a complaint with JLR Financial services and await their response, the next step is the FCA and Ombudsman ?

Sorry I cannot post the poll can I please ask another member to post on my behalf?
