Which is less attractive to car thieves - PHEV or Diesel?

I have a P440e on order but it was a close run thing whether I went for a D300 instead. As my order still hasnt been confirmed (despite the fact I put down a deposit last Jan) I'm still thinking about changing it to a D300 for various reasons I wont bore you with here. But one factor might make me stick with the PHEV and that is how attractive it is to car thieves. Some reports on Google indicate that PHEVs are less attractive to thieves than standard ICE cars and since the L461 is bound to be a prime target given its rarity and desirability, that would certainly put me off going for the D300.

What do you guys think?

Agree with previous, but in any case, much better to have security tracker (now is working) plus additional immobilizer (when somebody will do it for our model L461 - no one till today).

Who knew thieves were so choosey that they popped the hood first to make a decision on stealing a car? Do they leave a sorry note on the PHEV’s after breaking in and finding out it’s not a diesel? Maybe you could get the diesel, but put a note in the window saying it’s a PHEV so they’ll leave it? That’s like a free anti theft system. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Exactly. Buy the vehicle you want not one that might have a slightly lower chance of being stolen - an event that is still actually rare even during the current spree of SUV thefts. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

3 Hybrids in our relatively small cul-de-sac had their cats removed just before Christmas, apparently they are worth more than those from plain ICE cars according to the Police.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

Watched a program this morning and part of it was about the theft of high end cars,,,, namely Rangerover. These cars were being stolen to order and mainly being shipped off to the likes of Kenya and Uganda because,,, A.... They can't get them, and B...... They want right hand drive cars. Massive business apparently,, cars are even stolen just for one or two particular parts,, there were pictures of cars cut in half because only an engine or front end was required,, this was already packed into a container ready to be shipped.. Cctv footage was shown of a guys new sport being stolen offers drive,,,,, 63 seconds it took them to drive it away. It had a tracker fitted,, which stopped Woking after a very short time 2010 RRS, TDV8
