Bike rack

So the wife has signed the family up for a bike ride via her work. The start is 7 miles from our house and it's a 10 mile circuit. It's too far to cycle to the start apparently so now I have to find a suitable bike rack for an L320..
So what are my options? I've seen tow bar mounted racks that vary in price from £24 to £130.
What do you think?

I bet the towbar ones don’t stop the boot opening on the 12MY on if you press the button. That could be painful! 2012 5.0 SC AB

7 miles is what, 40 mins ride? IIRC Cambridgeshire is pretty flat as well - on yer bike!

Again, if its only 7 miles away and from the sound of it you're not an avid bike trip family, then spend the least amount you can to get the job done, it should manage 15 mile round trip. Make sure you've got some wadding/padding type stuff to keep the bikes from scratching the car and each other.

You do realise 7 miles on a push bike is literally a good warm up? You’ll be rolling 2-3 miles of it. What’s the average bike speed for a family ride? 9-10mph? 7 miles is nothing.

An the moral high ground of arriving by cycle instead of a filthy diesel or big petrol engine is priceless. These days you can see the guilt on the face of those driving those horrific 3.0litre diesel cars.

You don't need to tell me.. We do have a 9yr old daughter so it maybe a tad far for her. I see her point there but why not just try it?
Our other 17 Yr old daughter works in the local boozer - wait for this - it's 400 metres from our house and has to get a lift in a 4.2V8 RR because she is too lazy to walk or cycle... Joke.

Buy electric bikes Thumbs Up Rolling with laughter
Just another thought, as your wife signed you all up for it, let her cycle the seven miles, then you & the kids can get in the car with the bikes in the boot & she can cycle the seven miles home Big Cry
