Had a call from the dealer this afternoon to confirm that it's the turbo (same as they diagnosed back on July and then proceeded to fit various valves rather than changing the part they diagnosed as faulty).

They are hopeful the new turbo will be delivered tomorrow (let's wait & see) & car will be ready Friday

I am told that they could not get LR to agree to a new turbo back on July and it was LR who insisted on trying other things first.

So thank you LR for the inconvenience you have caused me in the last 3-4 months by insisting that I continue to drive a car that would suddenly go into limp mode with loss in power whilst overtaking vehicles on a motorway. You really do know how to p!ss your customers off.

Paul,
Don't fill you full of confidence does it, let's hope it is a end to the matter.
I can't fault the Dealer doing mine, at the minute anyway.
It would be interesting to see how many MY13 have had this issue
Onwards and upwards hopefully anyway
Steve

Certainly doesn't inspire confidence Steve &, given the history, I won't be convinced the issue is resolved until I've done 2x 400 mile round trips without the dreaded restricted performance raising its head.

Likewise Thumbs Up dealer called to say car will hopefully be ready late Friday
Confirmed the final outcome which was that the actuator arm was not interacting with the turbo properly due to turbo fault (presumably the hole alignment issue)

Biggest disappointment is that LR appears to have refused to listen to dealer's initial diagnosis a few months back Sad

Be glad to get it back though so I don't have to listen to the rough engine on this Disco Sport SE I've had for the past week

Great news paul,

Agree about discovery nowhere near as good as RRS

Well the saga continues! Rolling Eyes

The new turbo allegedly arrived last Tuesday and, according to the call we had from the dealer last Thursday, was fitted last Thursday with the car just needing the body refitting Friday with the car being ready for collection this morning.

So, heard nothing this morning and called the dealer this afternoon (speaking to a different person, last weeks person is on holiday) to be told the turbo is being fitted tomorrow!!!! Neutral Neutral

WTF is this dealership doing and, more to the point, why did LR insist that the previous family who owned the dealership sell to this shower of multi nationals last year. Does LR approve of, or even teach their dealerships how to lie to customers.

I now have the Dealership Principal looking into the sequence of events, this evening he suggested that the turbo wasn't ordered until this morning. Once I get a satisfactory response and the car back I will happily pull all of my previous posts and experiences together and detail the more than unacceptable events I have had with this dealership since April of this year.

Land Rover, your cars have manufacturing issues which some, including me, are or have been reluctantly happy to overlook. However you need to sort out your bad dealers, particularly the ones that you, allegedly, insist take over existing well run dealerships (I have my sources). My next nearest dealership is too far away from my home so when I replace the car next year it will not be a LR product, not because of the cars themselves but because of your "approved" dealer!!!

Absolutely agree about the dealers- no end of issues when I bought my Evoque in January.

Sales and senior management were outrageously poor, and only took notice when LR got involved.

They could learn a lot from Lexus in terms of customer experience.

The thing is, when your order books are full and you don't really need to 'sell' your cars because there's people queuing up to buy them with little or no effort required on the part of the dealer, things won't change... 2012 RRS HSE. Firenze Red.
