Where can I get one of these fitted by someone who knows what they are doing? I live in Warwickshire

I have a 2007 TDV8 RRS with Media in Head Restraints if that makes any difference!

Did any of you guys get one of these fitted in the end? I've just stumbled across this wireless camera on eBay and it seems like the perfect solution - just want to know if the quality of the image is any good with it being wireless (and pretty cheap)?

The FFRR mod works, but it stops it using the light sensor, so the screen is too dark tbh.
You could always fit a 2010-2011 satnav screen in place of the existing one. Similar price to buy and then you can fit a camera without the gvif. Needs enabling by someone like myself or if you have your own IID tool. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

I thought that a fix had been found for the brightness issue (using a diode)?

I'm mostly concerned about whether the unit is capable of sending a rock steady image from the tailgate to the front of the car wirelessly Question

indeed you can add the diode, but you need to be pretty good with a soldering iron to do so and most people aren't.

As for the camera, If you want rock steady guaranteed image, then don't bother with Wireless. There will always be other signals at risk of interfering, your phone, ipads, etc etc

On the RRS, you still need to get power to the tailgate for the camera, so need to run a cable anyway and there is very little room for the sender unit if it needs to be in the handle. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks Bodsy - that's exactly what I was afraid of.

Do you have a link to more info about doing the 2010-11 screen change please? I've just bought an IID tool so could (hopefully!) make the changes myself but interested to see what the down sides would be as the FFRR mod has quite a few!

Grab a cup of tea and have a look through this.....

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic120453....tnav+in+d3

I've done it on mine as my satnav drive was playing up. Rather than repair that, I went down the D4 screen route as I also wanted the reverse camera, but I didn't want to use the GVIF.

Don't think anyone has done it on the RRS yet, but it will be very similar. The surround may be slightly different, so it would be interesting to see, but it is essentially the same process. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible
