Groaning sound from front suspension????

Hi,First post so be kind to me. Very Happy
2005 HSE 2.7 V6 when going round right hand bends a groaning sound from what I was told was the front bearing hub(near side).This has now been changed and the noise is still there.Note it does not make the noise on left turns.The noise can now also be heard in a straight line and is getting worse Any ideas ??? The two front lower arms have also been replaced along with the discs and pads.
Does the car have to go back to Land Rover as the arms have been done, and the stearing wheel is no longer central. Thanks in advance Brian J.

Have you not had the tracking done they set the stearing wheel first

Have a look at the stone Guard around the back of the discs see if its been knocked

Hi, can the tracking be done at any tyre place or is it Land Rover only,does the wheel alignment have to be done when the lower arms have been replaced also Land Rover or anywhere ? Thankyou for your input.

yes your wheels will be all over the shop who changed the arms did they not do it

You don't need to go to land rover ever if you find the right place

The guy that did the work,works for the car dealer that I bought it from,dont know if he did the tracking after or not I will phone tomorrow to find out.As for the wheel alighnment do you mean a 4 wheel alighnment or a garage that knows what they are doing.

Where ever you go to get the wheel alignment done, make sure they can put the vehicle's suspension in tight tolerance mode while they do the work. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Best to get the full alignment done camber toe tracking x4
On a hunter system it's fully computerised
Kiwk fit can do it if they have the new hunter kit fitted

The suspension system has two sets of tolerances. In normal mode, the system will ignore a wheel that is up to 15mm (I think) high or low. This means that any two wheels could be "out" by 30mm relative to each other. As suspension moves the camber changes (the wheelbase changes too between rides heights too by the way). Tight tolerance mode has a tolerance of +/- 5mm (I think).

If the vehicle were to be set up with the maximum normal tolerance, it could be a long way out when driven on the road.

Any tyre place should have the necessary means to activate tight tolerance mode. If not, you have to ask why not. My local place recently bought a 4 wheel alignment rig. When I asked for a price he said he couldn't do it yet because he couldn't yet access tight tolerance mode on LR products. This is the sign of a good company and the reason I've been using them for years. As I have the IIDTool I could set it to TTM myself and they did the work. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Took it to Kwikfit this morning,,they just did it in normal mode using the Hunter system they did not ask about tight tollerance mode!They did say though that because I had just had the lower arms done that the bushes may settle a little so take it back in a couple of weeks for a re-check and adjust free of charge.Tghe camber,toe and tracking was a mile out with one reading not even on the chart.Still got a small groaning noise on right hand bends but I think it is coming from the offside bearing now,may swop it for the one that I had replaced as I suspect that that one may be OK.cant do any harm as its not a massive job to do.The cost from Kwikfit....£64.90 for the front and rear alignment,the back was also out but not by much.....
