2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

When you read through the techy specs there's no low ratio transfer box on it, I know that 99% of owners won't be bothered and probably wouldn't know they have one on the current car but is seems an odd omission when they have fitted TR2 unless the electronics are so good and so relaible that LR feels the low box isn't required now.Could be tempted by a Corris Grey HSE
with red brake callipers, privacy, pano roof and grey oak trim riding on the style 6 22" alloys though at £65k

One of LR's regular configurator glitches?
Just checked the build again and what it says is Single Speed Transfer Box (High Range Only) in the Standard features section when you get to the end of your build 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Here we go:

RRS2 press release wrote:
A choice of two full-time 4WD systems will be offered. One system provides a two-speed transfer case with low-range option, for the most demanding off-road conditions with a front-rear 50/50 percent default torque split, and 100 percent locking capability.

The alternative system is 18kg lighter and features a single-speed transfer case with a Torsen differential, which automatically distributes torque to the axle with most grip, working together with the traction control systems to deliver excellent traction in all conditions. The default front-rear torque split of 42/58 percent is designed to provide a rear-wheel drive bias for optimum driving dynamics.

So there is an optional transfer box, which suits those who want it and for the majority the car is 18kg lighter and that's a CO2 benefit. Smart. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!
