Unwanted defaults

Every time I stop the engine on my RRS it cancels the Intelligent Speed Limiter meaning that I have to go through steering wheel menu settings to re-enable it. (I don't know which variants have this, but this is the system that stops the car going above the speed limit based on speed limit signs and sat. nav.) Is there any way of making 'on' the default?

Also, nearly as often it cancels mobile data, requiring further menu searches to find the way to turn it on again, after which it takes so long to re-boot that any benefit is gone. Again, is there any way of making 'on' the default for this?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I have exactly the same two problems.

From the manual on ISL it says any speed adjustments you make are lost on an ignition cycle so that implies it should retain the on/off status.

My view is that they are software bugs, unless no one else sees these issues.

Is yours a MY17? (Sounds like we'll need a trip to the dealer).

Yes, only had it a week!

I might ping an email to JLR, but I suspect the response will be poor!

Got mine on 1 March, so sounds like an issue common to recent cars.

Find it amazing that the el cheapo Koreans can get these things right and the Brits can't time after time. Plus the Brit's charge you extra for this stuff. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

....and are late adopters, so no excuse not to get the technology right.

As for prices, they follow the pattern of Rolex, Barbour, Burberry, etc. - fashionable and 'desirable' goods that attract a huge premium even though they are often quite ordinary.

Update. I think I may have solved the Intelligent Cruise Control problem. Contrary to the instructions (which are useless) which state that you have to select Limit using the button on the centre console, I've found that if you turn Intelligent Speed Limiter on in the steering wheel menu, it stays on as long as you DON'T use the Limit button. If you press that at any time, it deselects Intelligent Speed Limiter and you have to go back in the steering wheel menu to get it back again. What you can't do, therefore, contrary to the instructions, is toggle between Intelligent and Automatic Speed Limiter.

I know men aren't generally supposed to bother with instructions, but they really are unhelpful, and 'trial and error' is the only way to find how to do anything.
