The blue items on the right are a pair of kneeling pads, not part of the standard kit, but handy if you have a flat / wheel change.

None of that lot is standard?!

I have since found the hook and extension bar and put those in the right places. The locking wheelnut key was in the glovebox so have returned that to its rightful place too.

The other cubby holes have now been filled with a tow strop, tree strop, couple of bow schackles and some other bits and pieces.

Some spare bulbs will join the collection shortly, can do without the warning triangle - it is bright bloody orange, after all!! Wink

The bottle jack looks nifty and compact. Does anyone have one of those or are they a non-UK item? Would prefer a bottle jack to the scissor jack... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

^^^ I think there was a thread on here about them being standard in Disco's and sometimes come up for sale on ebay etc. I'll try and dig it out. Thumbs Up

The bottle jack is supplied with the coil sprung D3's as standard. To the best of my knowledge it won't lift an air suspension D3 / RRS, hence we get the scissors jack. Useless & all as it is Rolling Eyes

Part numbers are as follows.....

Bottle jack KAL500151.
Bottle jack handle KAH5000050
Additional extension bar for bottle jack KAH000093

However this differs significantly from the older D1/2 bottle jack which Beancounter is referring to, which was a much more substantial beast of a jack Thumbs Up

Not sure though if it would have enough "lift" to raise an air suspension vehicle sufficiently off the ground to change a wheel.

Thanks Bean and Rupert. Useful stuff.

I guess a small aftermaket bottle jack might be the thing to go for then. Halfords et al do a fair selection of remarkably compact but heavy/high lifting items these days it seems. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The TDV8 I drove at LRE had a bigger bottle jack fitted where the bottle jack is in Rupert's picture. The instructor said that those bottle jacks were no longer available and that was back in 2007.

The bottle jack is the only thing I have not got in my boot, I have a 12tonne strop under the back seat and various shackles both in the boot and under the back seat

Where Rupert's picture has a tow strop I have a firstaid kit as it is a required item by law here. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh
