Also to add to the confusion the rear wiper will come on automatically if you have the front wipers on either rainsensing or continuous and engage reverse gear.
When you have the wipers on constant or auto and stop in traffic have you noticed that they stop and go to a long interval intermittent wipe and revert to full speed when the car hits a fixed speed........

With the head lamps I get them washed whenever the headlamps are on and I push the button on the end of the wiper stalk, which also operates the windscreen washer at the same time.

During the summer I had the wipers set to auto and they came on even if it wasn't raining........... on investigation I had squashed flies on the area where the sensor is so it thought it was raining and turned the wipers on to intermittent. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

If money could be saved by opting not to have rain sensor wipers ,then great, I would opt not to have them! I want to be in control of when I wash/wipe both front & rear screens. I also think being able to jet/power wash the headlamps when you decide too is also better than every fifth time.

to add to that, my dealer said the same thing with regards to that adjusting the front wipers. So they were also misinformed RRS S/C Special Edition, Vesuvius
