What should you expect to pay at Auction ? The Glasses Trade price
or less ? Is the Glasses Trade price more or less than the Cap Clean price ?

The reason I ask is that I would have expected an independent dealer to have about £4k £5k profit in the car but the Glasses prices you are quoting only appear to have about £2k - £3k profit ?

There isn't 4/5k in the lower priced (older cars) cars mate, I think most have minimum £3k margin, Glass and Cap are simply two different opinions on the market, They are very close at the moment with Glass valuing most RRS £100 or so higher than Cap.

RRS at the moment are doing significantly more than Trade figures at the auctions but this is a seasonal thing and should return to normal in Jan / Feb. The Glass Trade & Cap Clean assume the car is in saleable condition or requiring minor work to get it to saleable condition and also with a lengthy MOT, there are adjustment figures for damaged or excessive ware and tear. Obviously every trader will look to pick up cars under the trade figures and Main Dealers have the ability to charge slightly over the retail figures but the flip side is, brand standards require a high level of condition.

So in answer to your question Glass/ CAP Trade is around what you should be expecting to pay but as most things its only worth what someone is willing to pay and you may be lucky and get a low reserved car for under the trade figures.
