Replacing Steering Wheel

Looking for some advice....

I've just bought a new smooth leather steering wheel and am wanting to find out how to remove original and replace with the new one... Looks like I should be able to remove the centre section containing electrics, buttons and airbag and swap this into the new smooth leather wheel?

Can anyone detail the step by step procedure for me?

Cheers

James

Ok having done this last week its simple. Heres the procedure.

1) Pop the airbag! (small holes either side of the wheel). You need a tool which is basically straight with a small right angle piece on the end (like a hook but doesnt come back on itself).

2) Remove the connecters from the airbag side (i remember 3).

3) Undo the center nut and the steering should come off in one piece with all the buttons.

4) change over all the stuff to the new steering wheels. Nothing complicated here.

5) put steering wheel back (make sure its aligned correctly)

6) connect up air bag and pop it back in.

Go slow and think about what your doing because ive had a crazy week and may have missed something Laughing Whistle . WINNER - 2008 Best All New Photograph

Laughing knew i forgot something!

Yea disconnect the battery FIRST. Leave the car 15 minutes before you mess with the airbag. WINNER - 2008 Best All New Photograph
