Hi ICE

The 'rest of world' SE spec doesnt come with this as standard, has anyone heard the difference between this and the stock system?

would Hi ICE be worth £600 extra?

thanks

Chex, I have the SE with bog standard system, it's pretty good as it comes. I would save your 600 notes and put it toward another accessory... unless you really need £600's worth of HiFi! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

the hifi system

theres - the stock system;

- Hi ICE - 8 speakers + subwoofer, amplifier etc

- Logic 7 - 13 speakers

I was curious as to whether the Hi ICE sytem was worth £600 above the stock system

Do you want an in-dash 6-disc CD changer, or MP3 on CD capability? If not, just get the base system... you can still "upgrade" the sound if it is not to your liking by tapping the amplified outputs and using new speakers and amplifiers. But you can't easily replace the whole stereo/head unit without impacting the vehicle.

The 'bog' standard system plays MP3's that have been burned onto a cd well at least mine does. For me the main difference is the standard has no aux input for an i-pod, although my knowledgeable dealer assured me it did ! Although judging by the comments on it's performance an after market solution sounds better........I couldn't justify the upgrade (900 euro's) and I am pleased with the standard version.

Hope this helps..... cheers
Andrew

thanks, I was wondering about the mp3 thing

these rest of world specs are a little annoying.

The D3 TDV6 HSE is cheaper than the RRS TDV6 SE

<.<

but I want the RRS

>.>

now to convince everyone that the RRS is worth £4000 more

That is because the D3 is a Discovery and not as "upmarket" as the Sport which is a Range Rover................... you pay more for less, just like buying a coupe!! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Greece 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Alaska White

I know that's an old thread but since I order my RRS SE with Europe specs I discovered that the car comes with base audio.
I have no clue what the base audio is and the dealer is asking LR UK to find out.
Is the upgrade to HI ICE worth it, considering that I may need in the future the aux connection for iPod or USB Mp3 players.
Does the sound is so much better for the the price of almost 500 pounds.
What I 'm losing if I stick to base audio?

Greece 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Alaska White

I thought that logic 7 is only available oh Premium Ice. Is that so?

Edit:

I found that info in LR site for the UK SE model

Harman Kardon® Logic 7® audio with eight speakers, passive sub-woofer, audio amplifier, voice control, in dash six CD changer, remote ICE controls.

Right now the only info I have for the base audio is:

Single CD eight speaker audio system. (edit: confirmed by the dealer) 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

very good indeed,

One question though regarding the Logic 7.
In your pdf, hi line audio doesn't mention Logic 7. In LR's site as I mentioned before it states logic 7 as part of Hi Ice.
What is the truth?
And what is logic 7 in words? 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed
