Track day?!

Not sure if this has been asked before or whether anyone would be at all interested...................

Considering it's LR 60th and also considering most events cater for (and quite rightly) muddy exploits, would anybody on here fancy booking a track day or track half day at one of the many circuits???

We all know how capable the RRS is off road, but alas due to the ridiculous legal limit of 70mph, never really get to test at the more desired speeds, well, not admitadly obviously! Rolling Eyes

It seems average cost for a full day is approx. £200 with half days (am or pm) coming in at approx. £130.

Just an idea, it would look amazing seeing our thoroughbreds being treated to a good airing on an open, unrestricted circuit!! Shocked My Gladiators:

RRS S/C HST - respect of the highest order
Freeloader 2 SE with all the toys - my baby RR

Disco3 - Gone
Defender 90 TD - Gone
FFRR Vogue - Gone
BMW X5 4.4 - Gone
LR Defender Tdi - Gone

Open to suggestions really.......

All seem pretty good, Donnington, Silverstone, Brand Hatch............I guess the easiest would be to try and get something central (ish) to everyone. My Gladiators:

Well, the choices seem to be endless!!!

All of the major circuits offer track days in some shape or form, but from website enquiry alone, some seem more geared up than others.

I guess the ultimate would be Silverstone as it is {currently} the home of the GP:

http://www.silverstone.co.uk/php/td_testdays.html

There are obviously plenty of others:

http://www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/brands-hatch.htm

http://www.donington-park.co.uk/competitors/dates.asp

http://www.goodwood.co.uk/circuithire/

All seem pretty much on a par WRT costs. I guess it comes down to numbers and dates. My Gladiators:

Freeloader 2 SE with all the toys - my baby RR

Disco3 - Gone

I will without doubt be the slowest due to my added bits, but seems like fun. Goodwood would suit me. RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE Zambezi silver,Alpaca.

You are going to test the MG on an off road track?? Brave man Al Rolling with laughter
Knockhill has a great "on road" circuit too and dead easy even for most of those living way down in the south to get to.

Maybe we should have a "Scottish Wekend" instead of all these Salisbury Plain and Lake District runs! Plenty of great fast and traffic free roads up here too for those who want to try a spot of fast touring. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

TDv8 HSE - Stornoway Grey with ebony and straight grain walnut wood-a-like interior with towpack, Tasmods. The best car I have ever owned
Now departed - Giverny Green TDv6SE with Aspen and Parchment interior - nearly the best car I have ever owned
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road
