Michael, the light sensor is in the screen behind the rearview mirror (tested it with a flashlight), I am guessing the rain sensor is housed in there as well. I often wondered what that little dome / bubble on the top center of the dash is or does... Anyone knows?

Isn't that the remote locking sensor? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

The weather up here is grim today VA, so I'm out and about early and it's nice and quiet online! Haven't seen rain like it in ages and the wind............... if I wasn't going to a meeting in town it would be a magic windsurfing day! Instead I'm going to upset a few LibDems by driving my nonfarm based Defender into Glasgow city centre as the other non-farm based 4x4 is being serviced at the moment! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Derek and Robbo, wouldn't masking the light sensor area of the screen with tape (to make the auto headlights stay on all the time) also disable the rain sensor for the windshield wipers? That wouldn't be good, since there is no intermittent program for the wipers, other than the one in rain sensing mode... Here in the US rain sensing wipers is standard equip, not sure about Europe.

Sorry for my english I asked if someone could tell me where sensor is found that it determines the operation of the lights in automatic rifle. This why in Italy it is obligatory to hold the lights ignited also of day and if you succeeded to darken it I could make to work the beacons in way completely automatic rifle. Thanks to all however

Robbo,

You have to turn on the lights during the day only on Highways, correct?
By the way, I'm going to be close to Bologna in August, will be in Riccione for vacation, golfing, beach, girls etc.....and tortellini of course.....

Umbertom, thought that would be a problem. Will just have to wear out the light switch! Besides would not want to leave goo over the screen when i'm finished.

Its a tough life! Cool

Is there a fix now ? To keep them always on ?

(besides the "tape" solution)

Dealer can not do this ??

There is a daytime running light capability if I remember, but you need to have a dealer turn it on for you...
