Real Gas Mileage

What's the average gas mileage for a S/C with a mix of city/HWY in So Cal area?

16 MPG for me in NYC, which is a combination of dead traffic or pure highway

That's not too bad. I rented a Trail Blazer for a week and averaged 16.5 mpg with a combination and 19 with only HWY (drove from LA to Phoenix).

I don't know what it's like in NYC, but with So Cal gas, you lose about 10% because they add 10% ethanol. I don't know how that works, but its what I was told.

10% ethanol here too. I have gotten as high 18 MPG on pure 75 MPH highway cruising. Sport mde definitely affects MPG, especially in city driving (plus, it coerces you to accelerate harder). My driving mix varies widely from time to time. I have not reset the computer since last service 5 months ago and the computer shows 15.1 MPG.

That's not too bad. It's equivalent to most V6-V8 SUVs (American). Maybe a tad worse.

But I suppose that's US mpg and not Imperial mpg, right?

Smoogle,

you make a good point, not sure if the US specs are calibrated that was if so it makes for about 15.25mpg Imperial which is inline with others in the UK.

Gonna set it to Metric and see what that gives me then I can see the convertion factor

Thanks,

I know the convertion factor but not sure if the mpg is indeed US or Imperial to start with so though I would change to Km and see the result that will tell me the starting units ....

I have 600 miles on mine. Hit 20 mpg on hgwy with 89 octane mid grade. Around town I'm getting 12.6 - 13.5. Not as bad as my 05 grand cherokee with 4.7 v8.
