Should I buy a RRS?

I am looking to replace my BMW X5. I've had no problems with it but the warranty is up and I want a new car. I've really enjoyed the X5 but thought I should see what else is on offer. I test drove the Audi Q7 (hated it), the Cayenne S (ok but prefer my X5) and the RRS. I loved the Sport and was all set to get it when I started to hear about reliability issues. I've had BMWs for 8 years and had no problems. Am I asking for trouble if I get a Sport? Is the '07 more reliable?

Welcome RRS, although people on here including myself have encountered some problems, they arnt serious ones, more niggles than anything, but you do get niggles with most new cars.

The one thing that can be guarranted is the all of us really enjoy driving the sport whichever model it is.

Buy one you wont be dissapointed Very Happy some of my Previous cars

Look at some of the signatures on the ends of the posts - quite a few members here have come to RRS from some pretty powerful BMW's........ and only one of them has returned to a BMW after having a one car break! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The RRS is a fantastic car... but it all depends what you want your car for. Compared with it's direct rivals (X5, Cayenne, Touareg etc) the RRS is much better off road than any of those and handles almost as well on the road as the X5 or Cayenne. To me, the overriding factor was spec/comfort... the cabin's a LOT nicer in the RRS than in any of the other and you get much more as standard for the money (although I believe we do get a couple more toys on the UK market than the US market).

If I did less mileage (and therefore spent less on fuel each month) I'd still have mine, it's fair to say.

Put the X5, Cayenne and RRS in a lineup and tell me which one stands out a mile for pure kerb appeal. X5's in the UK are so common they don't warrant a second glance and Cayennes are pig ugly. Who wants to spend $80000 on a car if no-one notices it. I've driven land rovers for 7 years and had no major problems and lets face it, even the Germans have their off days (I've had 3 BMWs - never again!) RRS everytime!

My choice would be Cayenne Turbo or Cayenne S (NEW 2007 only) with 380 N/A V8... Even new Cayenee S just smokes away RRS S/C and i'm not talking about turbo which has 120bhp over CayenneS.. Cayenne has more options and interior. But this is all from the point of logic. I just love RRS. And I was also driving BMs for some time (had 4 of them) 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500
