HELP! Completely dead – Nothing happens

Hi,

Came out to my RRS TDV8 this morning, unlocked the car, everything ok. Got in and put the key in the ignition and NOTHING. The parking brake light and the airbag light flashed, but nothing else. No test lights, no flashing light show as normal.

I noticed that the navi does not start up when you unlock the car as it normally do. I called the dealer and they said that it is properly low on battery, but it does not look like that. Lights come on and windows and seats works as normal.

The dealer says that he at the earliest can have a look at it September 4th for diagnostics ?!?!?

Anybody have any idea of what could be wrong?

Thanks

Do a system reset. Use your key to lock, unlock and lock. See what happens then. If still no joy phone up LR assist.

BTW check that the gear shift is in park. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

It does sound like just a duff battery, so LR assist should be able to help.

This is similar to what happened to MDPs car... he had a duff battery that caused all sorts of apparently unconnected things to happen. This is just what LRA is for, so give them a bell Thumbs Up

I’ve tried to hock the car up to another cars battery, still the same story, nothing happens – the dealer says that the car is somewhat special and that it need to recharge for about 10-15 min from another car (while that car is running) – is this true?

Btw – tried that to, no luck RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

Really? I thought LRA was meant to be Europe-wide?

So did I

But apparently it is Europe-wide for UK owners, not DK owners. When I asked the dealer, they just said that it does not apply to Denmark RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

Get your local roadside car help over - don't you get any sort of assistance from LR? How old is your car? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

So what tends to happen in DK when you break down then, you expected to arrange your own breakdown recovery? I know all this isn't helping your problem, sorry Sad

I would give your dealership a very big talking to - Sept 4th is unacceptable. Do they know about customer service i Denmark?

BTW name and shame the dealer and then point him towards this site. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

It doesn't look like there's any mention of it on the LR DK site either... nothing to my non-Danish speaking eyes anyway. It is amazing though... Confused

Customer what? - nope, they don't know the meaning of that - their calendar is filled up with Hyundai service appointments etc. sep. 4th for diagnostics, and if anything needs changed a couple of weeks more - no kidding. I can always take it to another dealer, but it is like 150 km each way to the next dealer, and they know that ...

going into this topic would fill the whole forum with bad vibes - and it is only 180% of the cars price after they have added 25% vat - I don think there is ONE other country that tax their car owners more

I just hope that it is only the battery and I will have the Roadside help come with some professional gear to jump start it RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass
