United States 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Zambezi Silver

This happened to me once about a year ago and never happened again. A jump start worked for me. I needed to connect the jumper cables directly to the battery terminals to get the Sport to turn over. Run the other car above idle for a few minutes to get the alternator turning out some juice.

That is shocking service. I would forget the dealer at this stage and contact Land Rover Denmark directly and make a lot of noise about how crap this service is from Land Rover.

Also ring Land Rover Custormer Services in UK and tell them this is not good enough from one of their dealers.

RUNNING AGAIN !!

I got really tired looking at the possibility of being without my wonderful car for 2-? Weeks and since none of the suggestions that you or the dealer had seamed to work, I decided to try one last thing – a hard reset.

I disconnected the battery for 10 min. and connected it again – AND VOILA, the engine sprang to live with out any hesitation, just as I’m used to.

Everything seam to ok now – although I will go to the dealer on September 4th and get him to do that diagnostic – just to have it checked out.

Thank you for all your input and support.

Regarding the dealer service, I don’t think Land Rover Denmark would do anything, but Land Rover UK might just be the guys to call. Anybody got a number to the right persons? RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

Check the -ve battery connections to the body, if it is like the TDV6 there are 2.
Just a thought, worth a try, it can play all sorts of fun and games if the connection is a bit dodgy and it happens more times than it should.

Good luck

I would suggest sending an email to Customer Services asking for the name and email address of the Director who is responsible for overseas dealers - there iis a Director responsible for this dealership somewhere within the organisation. This wiill show Customer Services you mean business and they will either supply you with the details you require and you can then email the Director details of your complaint, or Customer Services will offer to take on your complaint themselves, so that it doesn't go any higher. If you don't get satisfaction from Customer Services then insist you are given the relevant Director's details.

Hope this is of help.
