Scotland 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zambezi Silver

Hello fellow LR enthusiasts,
Just acquired my first Range Rover, opted for the middle ground in performance and economy with the TDV8. Had it a week and loving it! It's a step up from the Td5 and a long way from the SJ413! Everyone has to start somewhere but my allegiance is with Landrover now. I'm hoping to find this site a valuable source of info and fixes, I haven't gone in with my eyes closed, I know there's going to be problems, hey,it's a Landrover!!

Ps. My son makes me drive with the windows open so he can hear the exhaust note! That's ma boy. My evolution so far:
TDV8 RRS
Td5 Disco
Tdi 200 Disco
Suzuki SJ413

Hi,

What a great site.

I spent hours on here today and resolved a few little annoying problems. Still got more questions to ask.

Thanks 4 Landrovers and 7 Range Rovers in 40 years.
Series I, II, IIA, III, Classic, Classic, Schuler, Overfinch, P38, L322, Sport.
A Love / hate relationship, when they work I love them..... you can figure the rest for yourself.

Hi

Like many - I have been lurking in here for a while, picking up information while looking for for one, driving examples and then checking the site to see if what I experienced was unique. (Many many thanks for the thread on knocking suspension).

My search is over, a Silver 3.6V8 09 HSE with 13k miles on the clock. No extras on it, getting privacy glass added before I pick it up. It was rattle free when I drove it over some roads which needed resurfaced.

Things I am thinking about changing (I expect the list to reduce or even evaporate as I just enjoy the car - although the heated wheel.....)

1. DAB (has to beat MW for Radio5 and TalkSport drifting in and out at night - maybe just hook my pocket DAB into Aux)
2. TV (I like the thread on using an iPhone as the feed)
2. Heated steering wheel. (understand I will need a heater spring (?) to make that work)
3. Steps.
4. Chrome Exhaust tips (I now know how the ones I see on the cars often look so clean, even on the inside - the soot does not go through some of the aftermarket ones).

5 years ago bought a black Jaguar XKR with a view to having it for a year or so and kept it right up to the point the kids could no longer fit in it. Love it, but is is being traded in. Joined the XK Enthusiasts Club (XKEC) and really enjoyed that forum - found the link to this site there. I wonder if the same will be true with this one.

Anyway I just wanted to say "Hi" and a genuine "Thank You" without this site I would be the slightly perplexed owner of a RRS with a strange noise and spend the next few months trying to get the dealer to fix it...... Graham

Hi All

Having spent months if not years admiring the RRS, i just had to buy one last year, 6 months in and very happy indeed. Very Happy
Tonight however found some Censored had removed my spare wheel over the weekend, Evil or Very Mad
Turned to Google (other search engines available) to find;

a the cure
b the winch
c the replacement wheel

I am running on 20's, any advice/experiences welcome, Dan at Duckworths seems to crop up on previous threads.

Apologies if this is a recurring item. Confused

Thanks Steve

Hey all

Very new member and new RRS owner!

Complete impulse buy and loving every minute of it, however!!!

The engine management light has came on (yellow) but there has been no reduction in power and no messages have appeared, any suggestions?

United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

Finally picked up my used Bonatti Grey Supercharged today. I had a BMW 330i and it was awesome and i have to be honest even after putting down my deposit i have still been a little apprehensive about becoming the owner of an RRS. But i've wanted one for ages and despite driving to the dealer today with a tear in my eye and nothing but fond memories of my 330i...within 5minutes of driving the supercharged menace home i was smiling broadly and loving every second. I think the key to a pleasant RRS experience is definitely the re-assurance that you have dealt with a good dealer and that you have a good warranty in place. My dogs weren't too impressed with the extra effort involved in getting into the boot though Smile

Only trouble is that after reading pages of this forum i know have RRS battery OCD and was even worried about leaving the driver door open whilst showing my new vehicle to my parents.....and panic at the thought of having to use the EPB in case it sticks and starts screaming at me! Confused

Anyway have to say this site is amazing and has really given me important insight into owning and maintaining an RRS. If it doesnt scare you it isnt heavy enough
