Wifey bought 2 wooden recliners from ARGOS two weeks ago - got them back home to find one of them was completely smashed inside the box. So took it back two days later and replaced it - during the swap, wifey noted to them that the box was different however was told its the same chair - got it back home and guess what - a completely different chair |

Sounds like typical Argos. Our fridge broke, so we ordered a new one from Argos. 'Oh yes, we have one in stock, you'll have it on Thursday'. Dad stayed off work on Thursday expecting to take delivery of the new fridge. It never turned up. Phoned up Argos, 'oh sorry, we don't have any in stock, you'll get your fridge in 2-3 months.' So we're expected to manage without a fridge for 2-3 months |

The main problem with Argos is you seem to get everybody else's returns? Boxes always re-sellotaped-up, often badly packed, with bits missing or broken. The beauty of a 14 day return policy, try it and give it back.., but then nothing is actually brand new!!!! |

Having seen inside some of the containers that come out of China destined for Argos, B&Q and Asda/Walmart it doesn't surprise me the state they arrive in the UK/USA after a long sea voyage. What is worse is that the shipper doesn't even seem to inspect the goods when they arrive at the warehouse and just sends them straight back out to the stores, unopened. Somebody somewhere must be making HUGE profits on this stuff to cover the breakages that occur in transit and don't get picked and an insurance claim made for them.................... Also some of the shippers need to be shot for thinking they can send stuff half way round the world wrapped in tin brown card and sticky tape, them squeeze as many packages as they can into a 20 or 40 foot container with the aid of a forklift truck and expect it to arrive in one piece 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it 2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced 2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW |

Most of this stuff is shipped on a "just in time" basis so that the warehouses carry minimal stock (stock unsold and sitting is wasted money afterall) so they pay extra for us to burn loads of oil to get to the destination port - they aren't worried about the weather that we get on the way from China or the condition of the goods when they arrive, but by golly if we are 2 hours late after a 21 days passage there are millions of £'s to be paid by the shipping line in compensation! Remember what the gys at Solihull told about when a suppliers truck gets stuck in a traffic hold-up on the motorway and that the sports ground suddenly gets like a helcopter park because of the cost of stopping the production line........................ well we can not use the helicopter service and just have to turn up the RPM to flat out 94revs and burn 500 tonnes a day to get the goods there on time instead. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The guy on the chair in the foreground looks like he's having a pleasant day out........................... judging by the tracks in the sand he might have got the BMW that was in the container 3 forward of the one with Kaine's deck chairs in it! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
