Engine failure

Morning everyone,
I'm new to this forum. I've got a 2016 RRS HSE SDV6 which currently isn't running (it has less than 60k on the clock) It was recently serviced in May and the timing chain was changed last year!
Whilst driving on the motorway the car started vibrating then stopped. Fortunately I managed to steer onto the hard shoulder. I liver near Chelmsford in Essex. My JLR servicing garage has said the engine needs to be taken apart or replaced. They turned it by hand and at TDC it felt very tight. They also found iron filings in the oil filter.
Does anyone know of a decent engine repairer in the area please?
Many thanks
Kieran

Yeah, does sound like that! I've been quoted anywhere from £4k to £7k for a rebuild and that's based on all of the existing ancillary parts on our car being useable! On a 9year old car it doesn't make economical sense unfortunately.

beware cast crankshafts nitrided or otherwise should be forged

Personally I would be looking to remove the gearbox/engine and fit the 2.6 and gearbox from an SD1 which is what I did on my classic RR Brilliant just drive the back wheels..

Wait for the hate Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.
