Hi,

I have a 2012 RRS supercharged which I have owned for three years and had no issues whatsoever. The Rangie was inspected today by a local LR specialist who says it is now in need of some engine work. Bit strange as it has only done 130,000 kms.

The supercharger drive damper spring is failing and requires a s/charger drive repair kit, gaskets, water pipes and connector.
The timing chains are noisy and require new timing chains, guides tensioners, 4 no. vvt's, front crank seal and front crank bolt.

The mechanic says that due to the high cost of repair they rarely do this work. It seems once people have been given the quote they run off and quickly sell the car. I couldn't sell mine as it is so unique.


He then checked out the rest of the RR and says I need :-

a left rear door module
Vacuum pump o ring
Driveshaft centre bearing
Rear stabilizer bushes.


I live in Christchurch New Zealand. Could anyone recommend one UK supplier ( Not Land Rover!!!) who would have all these parts (OEM) as I don't want to involve two or three international couriers with their extortionate international shipping charges.

In New Zealand we only seem to get parts from China so I feel safer buying them myself.

Sounds to me like they are covering all bases with the "ticking" noise , get a second opinion, there are tsb's on both the s/c and timing chain rattle noises.

I generally use LR Direct for anything I may need, they supply both genuine and pattern parts, ship via DHL not the cheapest, but normally 5/7 days delivery door to door.
