Massive ‘hair drier’ noise from the engine when charging

New p440, done 4500 miles. Strange (loud) fan type noises going on and off when in charge. Is this normal?!

Battery needs cooling down while charging. Not so apparent in winter, quite noticeable in summer. Regards etc.,

Wojtek

I had the same issue a couple of days ago charging the car with a car cover on. The cover blocked the air intake on the front and subsequently the cooling fans went into a spiral of faster and faster rate. As soon as I removed the cover off the front of the car, the fan rate dropped.

I have now decided I need to keep the front of the car uncovered when charging to avoid the overheat issue in summer. RRS Autobiography P440e
