11.5 seems a tad low,,, I would be getting concerned if it was 12.5. As you most likely know,,, check your battery and charging rates,, low battery can cause all manner of issues. 2010 RRS, TDV8

11.5V is basically flat - it's below 20% charged. I'd put it on a decent smart charger for 24 hours and see what happens. Worth bearing in mind that even if you get it back to showing 12.7V (fully charged) you can still have very little charge capacity in the battery i.e. it might show 12.7V but only have 200A CCA. The only way to check it is to get it put on a proper battery checking device.

I plugged the tool in this morning. Ignition on with everything off = 11.9v. Start the car and watch the live values, which shows 13.5v. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

13.5V with the engine running is low - one would expect c.14.5V. Suspect a tired alternator in need of replacement. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

OK, thanks Wayne. My 30-day count down to service has just popped up, so I'll ask T&S Norman to have a look. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

A new Exide 1000 battery fitted today. My old battery was showing 700 CCA(EN) down from its 900 original. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

But you said it was only charging at 13.5V,,,,, needs to be 14.7 or thereabouts,,,, a new battery is not going to fix a low charge rate. Check it again if it's still low I would be looking at an alternator,,, before it let's you down in the middle of nowhere,,,,, just been down that street. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Me being a sceptic,,, I don't trust any garage as far as I could throw them. If you have the means to check the charging rate I would do it,, won't cost anything. If you are still seeing less than 14v there is a problem,, mine never deviates from 14.7V,,, the only time it did ( dropping to 13.8V) for a short period,,, the alternator burned out a week or so later. I would certainly be double checking if it is the original unit still in place. 2010 RRS, TDV8
