SVR brake part numbers

Hello all,
I was wondering whether anyone with a Topix account can tell me the relevant part numbers for the front and rear discs and their respective brake pads are for a 17MY SVR.. and whether anyone can tell me whether they are different from a L494 5.0S…

Some sites seem to suggest that they are the same part numbers but others won’t and do not appear to even supply the SVR..

Mine is coming up to 40k and will require brakes all round but given the astronomical price dealers want to charge for such a simple job I am wanting to do them myself but don’t want to buy the wrong bits..especially as the pads appear to be a tidy sum on their own!
Thanking you in anticipation!

If you go on the autodoc uk website (also the best place to buy Brembo discs), search by your registration, and then by vehicle type, you can find out what was fitted to any vehicle and then compare.

Front discs changed at JA chassis, but are still 380mm..

Pads all supercede to the latest number too, so all interchangeable

Thanks Dave,

Used Autodoc to purchase the Brembo discs and pads … far cheaper than Euro Car Parts even with their 50% discount on Brembo ‘special’ !!

Advanced Factors we’re cheaper still but can’t get Brembo… alas… for the other family cars I would use them..

Thanks all again for your help!

Ian

Just like to thank Dave and Mikey for their assistance… Autodoc were excellent… full set of genuine Brembo front and rear discs and both sets of pads for £411.00!
The parts come from Germany so expect a week or so delivery but other than that can’t fault them… significantly cheaper than Euro Car Parts even with their 50% discount!
Will definitely use again…

Job completed on my drive! Saved myself an absolute fortune!
Also raised the spectre of just how Censored the main dealers are! My car was supplied new from my dealer to its one previous owner and has been service there continuously from day one… only now done 34,000 miles…
Took off the front offside wheel and first job is to take off the exquisite carbon fibre air cooling duct which feeds air straight on to the back of the pads… Dealer had sheared off a bolt whose threaded remains were sticking out of the calliper which secured the front mounting lug.. they had also sheared the mounting lugs off the carbon fibre mould…. Bloody livid!

They had just bolted it together so only the rear lug was holding the air duct on…
So job was extended somewhat by having to drill out the remains of the old bolt.

Anyone doing this job make sure you coat those bolts heavily in copper slip to stop any corrosion!

Thanks again gents!

Don't use copper slip on aluminium calipers. A non-metallic grease should be used, such as ceramic grease Thumbs Up

Every day is a school day…what does it do then?
I used ceramic grease on the pad top and bottom surfaces… and the pins….just a little blob on those bolts holding the cooling ducts as the steel bolt had obviously started reacting with the alloy calliper.
Thanks Mikey..

The copper reacts with the aluminium, causing galvanic (?) corrosion, and eats away at the aluminium

We see it a lot on the Brembo pad seats, huge amounts of pitting/corrosion where the pad mounts

Yeouch! Thanks for highlighting this… looks as though I’ll be back under the car again to clear it off those bolts… many many thanks for highlighting this… I thought it was inert..

You said that you used ceramic grease and D_M said to use ceramic grease so you appear to have gone the right way already. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hmmm not totally… I used the ceramic grease on the pad upper and lower surfaces and on the pins…

But I used copper slip on the little bolts which hold the carbon fibre air vents on… on the SVR these scoop air from underneath and then feed it straight up on the rear of the pads. These little bolts mount directly on the calliper … I presumed it was inert but Mikey is spot on and it sets up a galvanic reaction particularly when wet…

Things you never knew…. Imparted my new knowledge to others today…who were long time motorcyclists all who had used it in rebuilding their alloy bikes!
