I don’t think it’s worth it.

Usually one module fails and stops all traffic on the orange optical bus.
Fitting the ebay bypass loop allows traffic to continue.

The loop also allows you to bypass other modules if it’s something else

Hey all.

The loop arrives by Amazon today so as soon as it arrives I will try it and let you know. I will also try and get some photos to help anyone else if they have this problem (providing this at least gets the system working again)

Hello All.

Right update. The fiver optic loop arrived I have taken a screenshot of the one I ordered. So I removed the drivers side rear trim panel from the boot. Remove the seal and the seal from the drivers side passenger door to get the trim off, remember to remove the boot light and disconnect the lamp (little Censored is hot!). On my car there was a black plastic module in front of the DAB module, two torx screws and the unit comes away, then you have access to the DAB module.

I removed the MOST connection and fitted the loop to the loom end and tried the infotainment system. Success! All back work apart from the DAB which is greyed out. Defo the module which has gone down possibly due to my jet washing the antenna? Or just coincidence? Either way I will now search for a second hand replacement and fit in due course.

Thank you to all who have helped, with particular reference to Andy, you sir are a legend and if you are ever in Somerset come by for a pint in my pub!

Glad to hear you are making steps the right direction

The black unit is for Bluetooth phone

I don’t think (or hope ) an antenna fault would stop the whole network working.
So have a go at replacing the module first

Hi Andy,

Indeed. All good learning as well. So a second hand DAB unit is coming via eBay over the next few days I will do a final update post if all goes well and the module doesn’t need coding to the car, which I don’t think it does.

Hello everyone.

So a short update and conclusion.

Second hand DAB module from Kent 4x4 breakers turned up today, installed and everything is back working. No need for coding just swap over the connections and away she went.

Conclusion. Nothing to do with washing the car just a coincidence.

Thank you to all who have helped and given guidance.

One happy Range Rover sport driver here.
