France 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Maya Gold
Fuel Pre-Heat problem

2006 Sport. VIN SALLSAA146A934562. Having problems with excessive diesel being burned and clouds of smoke. A replacement would cost £800.00 and I understand parts are not available. If the problem persists would it be safe to unplug it or perhaps take out the fuse? Andrew Kennedy

Hi,

dont forget the FBH is not just about getting you warmer quicker its main function is getting and Keeping the engine up to operating temp quicker, many dont notice or realise that the the FBH can operate a number of times during a journey if slow moving or frequent stopping and starting, so a none functioning FBH will also potentially use more fuel as the engine is not up to temp

As said they can be stripped and cleaned but excess fuel may be the FBH fuel pump ?

if you want to get serious about it there is has its own topic over on D3 Whistle

Thumbs Up Porsche Cayenne 2022
