I have the comfort connector hidden in the bumper valance. Just pull out, connect & when finished it sits inside the valance. You would never know it was there & no opening/closing the bonnet Thumbs Up

Or there's always the option of mounting the charger within the car itself...

I prefer putting it in the boot. Depends where you park really

This site also sells a towbar plug (if you park in a garage and have a 7 pin white tow socket)

Could try one of the bm2 type battery monitors and use the app on your phone to check charge state, they are quite accurate.

Cheers Col Thumbs Up

Going to go with one of them - £19 on Amazon with a free app. Not sure if its BM2 but should be enough for me to monitor it Smile

Now - anyone use a solar panel to keep the battery topped up?

I use one on the inside front windscreen that plugs into the OBD port and seems to work well enough if I'm going to leave the car for a week unused.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Well, I was thinking of putting it in the front windscreen as where I park, the car is facing south

Update to this thread;

I've been in discussion with NOCO about the battery Booster X45

to ask if it can be used as a trickle charger as they do a Fag Lighter extension lead - but it won't work with that model as its purely a starter booster, but they said that the cable could be used in the aux output in the boot to charge/top up the battery.

I already have a CTEK trickle charger so following the advice given from NOCO I have now just ordered on of these

to see if it will work... I see this as an easier option to use so I don't/won't have to open the bonnet to charge "Greta" up, plus I will be able to close the boot and set the alarm on her....

The boot output is not powered when the car is locked.
I ended up connecting up another socket connected to the battery so I have the facility to use either the boot or front depending what direction the car is parked Range Rover Sport: Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S

Can anyone tell me and others that might want to know
what gauge wire and what size spade connectors are required to do this safely?

And would it be any safer with a fuse between the spades? ===========================================

I did not want to be changing the existing wiring to the original socket & have never used it anyway. That is why I added a new socket with inline fuse. When not in use it has a cover that shields it. Only a couple of pounds from Ebay Range Rover Sport: Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S
