Hello there and that’s unlucky. Have you got any claim against the garage/person that did it?. Somebody will be along with more knowledge than me….. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

They don't want to know as I've had it for 6 months and it's on 105k miles, I've issued them an intension of small claims, he's got 14 days, to respond before I file, I'm stuck without a car in the meantime, ans was just wondering if it was repairable by myself and I hit him with costs. |

Did you have the belt replaced, or was it replaced as part of a sale? |

He told me that both belts were replaced just before purchase, I believe they were because I can still read the writing on the remains of the front belt. |

Thanks Mike, yea, that's the road I'm travelling down, CAB gave me the template letter which I've sent to him, gonna cost me just under £500 to pursue through the small claims but it's cheaper than having to pay for a new engine myself, and if I win, which I should, as I have engineers report saying the cause of failure was the loose bolts, I'll be able to claim that expense back. I'd only done 5k since buying it, having to use the missus car till I get something sorted. |

Good luck and keep us updated. Was it an LR indie that’s sells cars or just a retail garage. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

Doesn’t matter if you have had it 6 maths the failure is due to their shoddy workmanship, I would pursue it all the way. Good luck |
