United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Thought I should post seeing as i started this thread.

Now had the IDCore Unique Auto Developments CarPlay installed for a couple months.

Overall, very pleased and love having the use of the screen with purpose. I no longer have my phone on a cradle which is good for my cabin OCD!

Installation foibles of note:

- as mentioned, there’s not a lot of room behind the glove box so it is very tightly installed there and the glove box needs a FIRM push shut.
- instructions weren’t specific to the L320 so lots of alternative YouTube vids were used for research.
- the jumpers on the unit needed to be in a specific position to actually function on the screen. There were 2 different positions quoted across the initial instructions and the ‘how to update the firmware’ instructions. It turns out, the firmware update instructions contain the correct combination I required.
- initialisation of any phone requires plugging in before you can use the wireless CarPlay. Worth remembering to keep an iPhone cable hidden in case this is required.
- microphone tucks excellently and almost invisibly on top of the steering wheel mounting, beneath the speedo etc.
- can’t change the orientation of the CarPlay ‘home’ button to the right hand side. Would be nice to add to the CarPlay settings as this is easier for RHD vehicles. Some other headunits offer this.

I’d say go for it if you’re fairly confident. I’m way more ‘proud’ of the car when I get in it now Very Happy

@darkangelv2,

anything in the menu to select right hand or left hand drive cars...this 'should' change the carplay menu layout..
