Well now... Glohhs sold on here Smile I will get them posted ASAP. Cars clunking tho - never ends does it!
Reset MPG now the wife doesnt drive it tho so its back up. Still want a gun drawer. Need to use the full potential of the warranty as well. Seems the harmonic balancers at the rear need new bushes. Hard work these cars are!

SO!
Warranty specifically mentions ARB bushes.... but only if they fail, not wear and tear - how the !"£$%" does that work then!
Pentland want £750+ to do them. Local indy specified 4 hours front, 4 rear or thereabouts plus parts but at 55+vat an hour.
Called an ex Frank Ogg employee who is now on his own so we shall see what he comes back with.
Had it in another garage already and they couldn't manage to do them, told me better at land rover themselves. What a mess.
Car is now unbelievably annoying to drive Sad

In other news.... Warranty covered the passenger door lock. 3 trips to garage and it was done Very Happy Fixed one bit and the next part snapped.... TYPICAL! they didn't charge tho. Really good service.

Fuel has now reached up to £2 a litre here... I have been looking at WVO and biodiesel but it seems pretty much a no go on modern engines. Shame. £170 a tank!

Got the car back today, all ARB bushes changed at a cost of £420 - tbh I am delighted with that compared to Pentlands prices!

Car is totally different. I picked it up and straight away no knocking but squeaked for about 2 miles - I assume bedding in.
Really happy, feels like new again. Next I will need to do all arms/bushes I think as at 90k they are bound to be in a similar state. I am also no longer going polly after advice by a couple mechanics in that it ruins the ride/drive.
Garage also picked up rear brake pipes corroded but not desperate so I have asked for a quote.

Happy driving once more Very Happy

"Garage also picked up rear brake pipes corroded but not desperate so I have asked for a quote."

I recently had my rear brake pipes replaced at £250 inc vat but that was whilst the ARC pipes were being done and rear body had been raised slightly, maybe the brake lines don't require the body up bit I'm not sure

Not sure mate, the mechanics on holiday now. I shall see Smile

A new clunk has appeared now hahahaha. I guess at 90k all the suspension component bushes are worn.

God these cars are sent to try us....
I removed the middle box ages ago and noticed very little to no difference in noise. Removed the rear silencers ( have new tips ready but not had time to get them on yet ) and again, not really much of a difference. I assume the DPF is muffling it all. I was hoping for a v6 to sound more like a v8 HAH!

Still getting clunks, seems to be 30-35mph on gear changes and on bumps, very odd, possibly a gearbox mount or something but im not capable of working on the car atm. I did tie wrap up the swinging weights at the rear, no difference.

I am ready to fire the parts canon now... pricing entire new wishbones top and bottom, front rear, arb links, steering tie rod ends, rear track control toe link etc etc.... basically lets go mental. Also rear diff oil, gearbox mega flush, check prop shaft bearing etc etc. Lets get it on!

On another note, I did a we buy any car and a couple other valuations on her today to see how much she's depreciated. £10500 - 11800? seems cheap to me looking at used prices. Doesn't matter anyhow, I want to keep her going for a good 5 years if not longer and because I owe nothing on her, I can afford to throw a bit at her Smile Speaking to other locals its strange, not one person appears to own a car anymore.... all driving big expensive motors and paying 500-1500 a month pcp Surprised

Bit of an issue today. New mirror came and I fond my old one has something extra too? Anyone know what this is and it looks like my new one isn't compatible.

If you mean the item in the first picture it is the screen rain sensor and is not part of the mirror, just hidden by the mirror trim.

Cheers

Cheers, it looks like both won't fit together? Or am I being simple?

You will find the high beam assist mirror has a different cover as it's a slightly different shape and larger.

Cheers

Yes Col, I ordered one, but it looks like the camera goes where the rain sensors are? I will go have another look but it appears the 2 are incompatible.

My A/B has both high beam assist and rain sensor fitted with no problem.

Cheers
