Hi I have a 2009 rrs, v8. only 33k miles in immaculate. the rear inner wheel arch (black plastic) is coming away from the outer edge of the wing? anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it.

Do you mean the wheel arch edge protector, coming away like this pic or the large moulded inner wheel arch liner?

2005 Cayenne S - handling defied physics and what a sound, so sod the mpg!
1995 Disco TDI- surprisingly reliable, shame about the peeling dash & other trim
Lots of other non 4X4's in between times.........

The fix is to replace the edge protector with a new one. I think the steel reinforce within the rubber corrodes and causes this. They are available as individual parts or you can get a set of four to replace all at once. A simple pull off and push on of the replacements. I think the part numbers are CLB500051-CLB500061. Around £70 for four bits of rubber!

However I understand that the set for the Freelander is much cheaper than the RRS parts ~ £54 and you end up with a couple of spare lengths as well. 2010 TDV8 - current - my first RRS, loving it so far......

Yeah, definitely get the Freelander kit six lengths in it, as said cheaper than the Sport one's and exactly the same stuff, if cut the lengths carefully can can do the whole vehicle twice as they really don't last that long, or sell the unused bits on and recuperate some of the initial cost.

Cheers

I'm keen to hear about these as mine too need replacing. Having look around I foiund these which would seem to be the genuine RRS items:

And I guess that these are the Freelander ones mentioned:

Does it matter if its Freelander 2 or not? Robin

Robin, those Freelander 2 ones are exactly the same stuff you get more and £20.00 quid cheaper.

Thanks Col. That's great. I'll go for a set those.

Do I need to lift the body to fit them??

And a wee bit cheaper from these guys if you're not fussed about LR branded packaging.

fixed?

I took off the two rear pieces that were looking un-sightly, washed them and dried them, un-folded them and put Gorilla double side tape on the inside edge, fitted back onto the car then just folded them over onto the tape works an absolute treat see photos.. Gorilla tape cost £5:99 and still loads of it left.
