Cross over pipe is a body off job. No doubt it can be done in situ, but at what point does labour doing it one way overtake labour doing it the other?

This sounds like one of those situations where, even though you won't want to, the logic of doing everything else you can do whilst the body is off will pay off in the long run - assuming you plan to keep the car for a while. So it might be worth asking the question on here as to what the forum recommends you get your mechanic to do or at least look at. A 2008 RRS will presumably have done a fair few miles (I have just cracked 100,000), and that will have a bearing on what may be recommended. I know that, sooner or later I will need two new turbos and I'm trying to set aside funds to make sure I only have to have the body off once... |

My SDV6 had the cross over pipe replaced a couple of months ago. Body off but when it was off my indie replaced the fixed brake pipes that run along the chassis. Said it was a quick job with the body off. Now I know the fixed pipes are good for the life of the vehicle - except for accidental damage, of course. Did the ARB bushes too, I think (would need to check the receipt). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
