Insulator pads at the rear of the bonnet, they just fell off

Popped the bonnet this morning and the pads at the rearmost edge of the bonnet just fell off. They are absolutely soaked and I assume the glue gave up. There is a tear in both pieces and they had moss on them. Do they need replacing or can I do without them? 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.
